ULAANBAATAR

Between 2015 - 2017, Billy made three trips to the Mongolian capital city Ulaanbaatar.

Invited by a friend whilst travelling nearby, Billy quickly became fascinated by what is a very unique place undergoing a huge transition.

Nomadic people are moving to the Mongolian capital from all corners of the country, setting up their Gers (yurts) on the outskirts and mingling with the urban folk. The result is a cultural mixture that can be found nowhere else.

Billy aims to return in the coming years to see how the city has changed, and to gain a glimpse of what it may become.
